Open House Announcement

With a new Chevy Chase listing gone live on MRIS today, our team is excited to open the doors this weekend (Sat 12-2pm Sun 12-3pm) for interested souls to feast their eyes on this beautiful home. Being located in Chevy Chase MD, among the highest regarded and most sought after Towns in the country, we think its location (in addition to its masterly crafted features and elegant design) make it a gem jam packed with value.
For details on this upcoming open house click here.
The life-style in the area is about city convenience with a small town and suburbanesque twist. Some of the best schools, two elite Country Clubs (Chevy Chase Club and Columbia Country Club) and family oriented appeal, pretty much sum up what this town has to offer.

Are Home Inspections Really Necessary?

In short, the answer would be, yes! And yes, it would be your expense to have one done. They typically range from $200-$500.
A lot of buyers ask whether they can skip the home inspection.  They may have bought a home before and are not nervous about the process, have an appetite for risk if it is an investment, or simply want to save some money. However you do not want to wave the protections and close on a property that you really know nothing about regarding it's true condition. You may be looking at much more expense in the long run should it turn out the given property needs a lot more work than you knew before committing to the purchase.
Competition is really the one reason you may want to consider leaving out an inspection contingency (a protection in the contract which allows you to walk away if the property is in unreasonable condition and seller is unwilling to fix issues).
However, you can still take precautionary measures in a high competition situation. ...

Let's Talk DC Dirt. What Are The Projected Trends? And How Can We Make Solid Predictions?

The prices of homes in the DC area generally were leveling out for a bit during past months and it seems as though prices are going to stay flat and steady for the near future. So those who bought during the boom have more waiting to do for prices to rise. However, anyone fearing an oncoming bubble can rest easy.
But wait...
Let me stand corrected and say that one anomaly here is the "actual District". That's right. Mud anywhere within the diamond on the map is seeing upward motion. Spots that are remotely close to any metro station in the entire DC area, are also seeing prices dance a bit. However, in general, and as a whole, it is safe to say that DC region market prices are stone and not looking like they want to move during the next couple months. The market is strong nontheless. But even with a small inventory, prices aren't seeming to shift anytime too soon. DC is not even the only market that has been experiencing this.
